OUR STORY
Vicki Sodaro, designer, and manufacturer of her bags began building sails bags in the early ’70s in Southern California, teaching sailing during the day, making bags into the night. Bag making turned to sail making for several years, but bags and totes were always being turned out for her friends and family using recycled sails and cover materials. University of California Berkeley Sail Team, then raising a family in the San Francisco Bay Area, found Vicki working at the family sail loft. There were always treats for teachers and friends in her hand-sewn bags. In 2001, Vicki became more serious about designing and building durable bags using recycled sails and materials at the sail loft. Bringing her son and daughter along to help develop her business has made Sodaro Bags a real family enterprise.
